UML, MC agree on provincial chief ministers and speakers
Kathmandu, Jan 28 : The CPN (UML) and the CPN (Maoist Centre) have agreed on the provincial chief ministers, speakers and deputy speakers.
Agreement to this was made after a-five hour long meeting between the chairmen of both parties Sunday evening.
A task force meeting (comprises both party leaders) held at UML parliamentary party office had recommended the modality to the chairs duo to this effect.
According to taskforce member Subas Nembang, among six provinces, UML would claim in chief ministers in Province No 1, 3, 4 and 5 whereas speakers in Province No 1, 3, 6 and 7.
Similarly, MC would get chief ministers in Province No 6 and 7, while speakers in Province No 4 and 5.
However, the post of the deputy speakers will be decided interchangeably with speakers.
Similarly, the taskforce has suggested for 70 per cent ministers from UML and 30 per cent from MC in the provincial Cabinet.
The taskforce further concluded to make the provincial cabinet with seven to 11 ministers.
