India’s COVID-19 tally rises to 43,084,913



NEW DELHI, 3 MAY : India’s COVID-19 tally rose to 43,084,913 on Tuesday, as 2,568 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours across the country, showed the federal health ministry’s latest data. Nearly 42 percent of the new cases were reported from Delhi, which has 5,744 active cases at present.

Meanwhile, 20 new deaths were reported across the country since Monday morning, taking the total death toll to 523,889. There are still 19,137 active COVID-19 cases in the country, down 363 during the past 24 hours. This is the first time in the past few weeks when the number of active cases declined.

So far, 42,541,887 people have been successfully cured and discharged from hospitals, out of which 2,911 were discharged during the past 24 hours.
