NC’s door-to-door election campaign begins from today

KATHMANDU, 13 MAR : The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) is launching a local-level election door-to-door campaign across the country from today.

During the month-long campaign till April 12, NC leaders and cadres are scheduled to reach the doorsteps of the people. For this, central members have been assigned as central representatives in all 77 districts.

As the local elections will be held on May 13 the NC will launch the door-to-door campaign in two phases. According to NC General Secretary Bishwaprakash Sharma, everyone will be appealed to participate in the voting in this campaign.

Sharma said that coordination and amity between various committees and leaders and cadres of the party would be enhanced through the campaign. He said that the election campaign will be conducted to spread the truth and dispel misconceptions.

During the campaign, the success of the current government, led by party president and prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, in getting the US-backed Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) passed by consensus in parliament will be highlighted.

For this, the NC has deployed central representatives of the party in all the districts two days before the start of the campaign.

The party’s seven provincial working committees will play a leading role in their respective provinces to make this election campaigning effective.
