Mutual coordination must to fight international security threats: Prime minister



Kathmandu, Sept 7: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stressed on the need for mutual coordination to address security challenges that the world is facing due to the increase in international organized and cyber crime and terrorism.

Addressing a ceremony organized by the Nepal Police in the federal capital today on the occasion of the International Police Cooperation Day and Interpol’s 100th anniversary, Prime Minister Dahal pointed out the need for collective efforts from the international community to identify and deal with such security threats.

Stating that all nations should strengthen international cooperation at the global, regional and sub-regional levels, he said Nepal is ready to play an active role in promoting cross-border security and cooperation. “I strongly believe that we can face the multifaceted challenges arising from global crime by cooperating with international counterparts”.

Prime Minister Dahal also emphasized on the need to address the root causes of crime including inequality, poverty and lack of opportunities while strengthening organizations and mechanisms to ensure that the world is safe and just.
