Unified Socialist announces new schedule for National Convention for May



Kathmandu, 5 Dec: The CPN (Unified Socialist) is set to organise its National Convention on coming May 17-21 in Kathmandu.

The party’s Central Secretariat meeting held today under the chair of party Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal agreed on a new schedule for the National Convention, according to party deputy secretary general, Jagannath Khatiwada.

Earlier, it had been decided to hold the event from January 28- February 1 and was postponed by around four months in view of the National Assembly elections scheduled for January 25. As per the meeting decisions, the party’s secretariat meeting will be hold on December 14-15 followed by a meeting of the standing committee on December 25, politburo meeting on December 26 and the central committee meeting on December 27-28.

However, the party is to organise the National Conference on January 28-29 to discuss about some provisions in the party statute. It is said the party will be registering in the Election Commission in view of the upper house election.
